About Portishead Frog and Toad Patrol

The Village Quarter and The Vale have long been the home of amphibians and the creatures have had to adjust to the changes that have come from the continued development of housing across their habitat.

Portishead frog and toad patrol was formed in 2013 as a result of increasing numbers of frogs and toads being spotted squashed on the roads during February and March. Volunteers have already moved more than four thousand amphibians in the three years of patrolling which shows that this is a busy and important migratory route.
